2026 ANDALUSIAN LAWN BOWLS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Further to FAB Circular No. 0290 of 6 October 2026 and Supplementary Circular No. 0292 of 15 October 2026, and following withdrawals, replacements and organisational adjustments communicated after publication of the latter, the Andalusian Bowling Federation hereby issues this Second Supplementary Circular in order to publish the updated competition draws and playing programme.

The annexes accompanying this Circular replace the corresponding annexes published with Circular No. 0292. All provisions of Circulars Nos. 0290 and 0292 which are not expressly amended by this Circular remain in force.

1 – VENUE AND COMPETITION DATES

The venue remains unchanged:

CABRERA LAWN BOWLS CLUB – ALMERIA

The Championships will take place from:

Saturday 31 October to Friday 6 November 2026

2 – CONDITIONS OF PLAY

The Championships will be conducted in accordance with the World Bowls Laws of the Sport of Bowls – Crystal Mark Fourth Edition, together with the specific Conditions of Play established for the 2026 Andalusian Lawn Bowls Championships.

The official Conditions of Play are attached to this Circular as:

ANNEX I – CONDITIONS OF PLAY

These Conditions of Play form part of the official competition documentation and shall apply throughout the Championships.

They include, among other matters:

  • player eligibility and licence requirements;
  • entry fees;
  • playing attire and stickers;
  • coaching requirements;
  • official match times and time limits;
  • competition formats for each discipline;
  • trial ends;
  • restrictions on visiting the head;
  • application of the relevant World Bowls Laws concerning dead ends and displaced bowls;
  • substitutes and replacements; and
  • the powers of the Controlling Body required for the proper and fair conduct of the Championships.

3 – CONTROLLING BODY

For the purposes of the 2026 Andalusian Lawn Bowls Championships, the Controlling Body will consist of:

Ruth Compton – FAB Provincial Delegate, Almería
Douglas Hall – FAB Provincial Delegate, Málaga
Tony Lear – Competition Secretary, FAB Almería
John Mannall – Umpires and Markers Coordinator for the Championships

The Controlling Body shall exercise the functions assigned to it under the applicable Conditions of Play and the World Bowls Laws, including decisions concerning authorised substitutes and replacements and any organisational adjustments required for the proper conduct of the Championships.

4 – PLAYERS QUALIFYING FOR TWO FINALS AT THE SAME TIME

The Conditions of Play expressly establish the procedure to be followed where the same player qualifies for two finals scheduled to take place simultaneously.

In such circumstances, the following procedure shall apply:

  1. The Controlling Body will first consider whether one of the affected matches can reasonably be moved to another available playing session in which none of the players concerned is already required to compete.
  2. Where such rescheduling is reasonably possible, the appropriate adjustment may be made by the Controlling Body.
  3. If it is not reasonably possible to reschedule either final, the player concerned will select which final they wish to play.
  4. In the other discipline, the team affected may be completed with an authorised substitute, in accordance with the applicable Conditions of Play and competition rules.
  5. Any such decision and the corresponding substitute must be approved by the Controlling Body.

This procedure is established in advance in order to provide certainty for players and organisers and to avoid the need for an improvised decision should this situation arise during the Championships.

Any subsequent change affecting an official match date or playing time must be communicated to the players concerned and through the official channels of the FAB and the relevant Provincial Delegations with as much notice as reasonably possible.

7 – OFFICIAL DOCUMENTATION AND COMMUNICATION

For the avoidance of doubt, the official documentation applicable to the 2026 Andalusian Lawn Bowls Championships consists of:

  • Supplementary Circular No. 0292 of 15 October 2026;
  • Second Supplementary Circular No. 0295 of 22 October 2026;
  • this Third Supplementary Circular;
  • Annex I – Conditions of Play; and
  • Annex II – Final Match Schedule.

In the event of any inconsistency between an earlier playing schedule and the programme attached to this Circular, the Final Match Schedule attached to this Circular shall prevail.

Provincial Delegations and all participating clubs are requested to give this Circular and its annexes the widest possible circulation and to ensure that all participating players are made aware of the Conditions of Play and the final programme before the commencement of the Championships.

This Circular constitutes the official communication of the Andalusian Bowling Federation regarding the Conditions of Play, the Controlling Body and the final match schedule for the 2026 Andalusian Lawn Bowls Championships.

This is communicated to you for your information and for the appropriate purposes.

Yours sincerely,

José Miguel Nieto Ojeda
